Well-Being Ways

The concept of Well-Being Ways was inspired through thought. An idea that we’re moving forward with starting this month of November.  For our audience, Well-Being Ways is a practice to implement each month to obtain a higher state of consciousness. 


At Salve, we know that making change can be difficult and is achieved by incorporating baby steps over a period of time. Distractions in everyday life and our own beliefs about ourselves can become obstacles.  


Implementing baby steps make surmountable goals more achievable and when met it gives us self-confidence.  As our self-confidence increases, so does our self-esteem. This cycle gives us the confidence to take on additional practices. Let’s unite and commit to taking 45 minutes a day to recharge yourself by making these changes over the course of a month. 


Each month a 15 minute practice for your mind, body and spirit will be outlined and available over a 30 day period of time for a holistic approach for your Being. Visit this page and use it as an accountability partner to uplift your mood.  Feel free to send me a message if you need encouragement or want to discuss strategies to overcome your obstacles. 


Mind: Meditate or Pray (What’s the difference?)  In my opinion, we mediate to become aligned with Spirit by taking the time to Be Still and Know.  When we pray, we are making a petition or request to Spirit we’re searching for an answer for a struggle or situation that we’re facing. Would love to hear your opinion about the differences between these two practices.


Body: Movement  Allows the fluid within our body to circulate through the lymphatic system.  Think of the lymphatic system as your body’s sewage system.  If the pipes get clogged or don’t move, the fluid becomes stale and allows for toxins to fester.  When we move, it keeps our bodily fluids moving and makes us feel better.  For this practice, take a walk and enjoy nature or dance to a couple of your favorite songs. 

Spirit: Reflection Work Each day first thing in the morning and last thing at night look yourself in the mirror and say to yourself ‘I am Beautiful’ or ‘I am Handsome’. Really look yourself in the eye while doing it. If you feel uncomfortable during this practice, take a moment to think why do you feel that way?  Is it your weight, most of us struggle with our body image. Do you think I'll be beautiful when I lose 10 pounds? Shift your state of thinking and tell yourself you are beautiful just the way you are.  If you want to lose 10 pounds then do so for a different reason. Accept yourself for where you are right now and strive to make the changes to improve yourself.
